Recently, the Powerful Guangdong- made Chip Initiative (the Initiative) was announced, aiming at strengthening industrial areas of semiconductors, industrial software and advanced equipment, with a focus on artificial intelligence, blockchain, quantum technology, life science and seed engineering. The semiconductor and chip technology forms the critical core of advanced manufacturing and has a contagion effect on other manufacturing industries. Over the past few months, chip shortages have led to the production suspension of automobiles, consumer electronics and thereby many other ancillary parts and components.
