OOCL won the Gold Award not only because of their diverse innovative technologies, like the Robo-advisor solution, but also their initiatives of being a pioneer in cultivating green awareness to their employees. In 2017, after OOCL had received the cash prize from the Gold Award, they invited World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to give out a talk for their employees, raising their awareness and enriching their knowledge on marine biodiversity. OOCL’s efforts and participation in environmental practices definitely deserves the multiple awards. The Robo-advisor solution is the recent development of OOCL to enhance marine operation efficiency. It utilises CargoSmart’s Global Vessel Voyage Monitoring Centre (GVVMC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve visibility over operation of the fleet and minimise the time that ships needed to be berthed at port.
