J ointly organised by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) and Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited (BOCHK), the BOCHK Corporate Environmental Leadership Awards 2019 Prize Presentation cum 2020 Launching Ceremony was held successfully. Our Guest-of-Honour the HKSAR Secretary for the Environment Wong Kam-sing, officiated the ceremony with FHKI Chairman Dr Daniel Yip, and BOCHK Deputy Chief Executive Wang Bing. At the Ceremony, our officiating guests, alongside FHKI Deputy Chairman Ricky Chan and Honorary President Prof Daniel Cheng, presented the awards to 2019 winners. The 2019 Awards hit a record high of 761 participating enterprises and the number was increased by around 19% compared with last year. These companies accomplished 2,600 green projects in total, a year-on-year significant growth of 63%. Meanwhile, FHKI had unveiled a brand new logo design for the 2020 Awards. Furthermore, the “Sustainable Business Award” was also newly added as an accolade for corporates steering in sustainable development, and a new judging criterion “Green Technology” was introduced to encourage participating enterprises to make good use of innovative technologies to improve environmental performance too.
