2020 YIAH AND IOY SUPPLEMENT | 2020「香港青年工業家」暨「傑出工業家」特輯 「香港青年工業家獎」暨「傑出工業家獎」頒獎典禮 F HKI held the 2020 Presentation Ceremony of the Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong (YIAH) and the Industrialist of the Year Award (IOY) at Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriott Hotel on 13 November 2020, with Chief Executive Carrie Lam as the Guest-of-Honour to present the awards at the ceremony. FHKI Chairman Dr Daniel Yip said, “This year, we have received numerous high-quality nominations in the preliminary round. This has shown a strong pool of promising industrialists in Hong Kong. Following rigorous assessments by the judging panel, 10 industrialists were shortlisted as YIAH winners. They are from diverse sectors spanning from plastic products, electronic and electrical products, hospitality and aviation supplies, telecommunications, clocks and watches, pharmaceuticals to textiles and accessories, etc. YIAH will continue to be a source of encouragement for the younger generations to pursue a career in the industrial sector, thereby injecting a fresh impetus to industry growth. With concerted efforts in re-industrialisation being put in place by the Government, we are stepping forward in revitalising legacy industries and scaling industrial success to new heights.” This year, the IOY Award was honourably conferred on Dr Lee Wan-keung, Honorary Chairman of Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing Ltd. Well-known as the “King of Paper Manufacturing”, Dr Lee is the founder of Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing Ltd. Possessed of unique outlooks and forward-looking insights, Dr Lee has made strides in transforming the company into one of the five largest paper and pulp manufacturers in the world. In addition to Lee & Man Paper, Dr Lee has seized opportune times to establish plants for cassette tapes, handbags and chemicals, all of which have performed exceptionally, thus making him the leader in all of these industries.
