42 FHKI Annual Report 2014-15 Young Executive Council In October 2014, the Young Executive Council (YEC) celebrated its third anniversary. The YEC was formed under the auspices of the FHKI back in 2011 with the aim of nurturing talents in the industrial sector so as to foster its future development. Its membership has been growing and now over 140 young executives from different industries are in the YEC family. Last year, the YEC organised a wide variety of events including seminars and factory visits which received overwhelming responses frommembers. In October 2014, a 23-member YEC delegation went to Beijing and visited some renowned enterprises and institutions, including Lenovo Beijing Design Centre, Beijing Aeonmed Co Ltd and X-lab in Tsinghua University, to gain a better overview of the development and application of industrial design in the Mainland. During the past year, the YEC also met with different Hong Kong government officials and personal in the political arena, including Gregory So, Secretary for Commercial and Economic Development Henry Tang, former Chief Secretary of Administration, and Hon Andrew Leung from the Industrial I (First) Functional Constituency to present their views on various issues including constitutional development, social mobility, industry and economic development, etc. Another key objective of the YEC is strengthening business connections with stakeholders. In March 2015, the YEC co-hosted the annual Joint Business Community Spring Operational Review Facilitating Business Networking Activities of the Young Executive Council 青年委員會活動
