The project encompasses seminars, training and workshops under the theme “Toy Distribution Channels for Domestic Sales in the Mainland”. A series of roadshows were also organised from September 2014 to January 2015 in Shanghai, Chengdu, Changsha and Hong Kong to showcase the winning products of “Hong Kong Toy Industry – Practical Platform for Domestic Sales in China” Campaign. Another BUD-funded project was launched to promote Hong Kong Q-Mark products in Mainland. Events held last year included the Hong Kong Q-Mark Brand Pavilion at the 14 th China (Guangzhou) International Food Exhibition in May and two seminars in June and November respectively. Nowadays, e-commerce plays an important role in the domestic sales market. FHKI launched the e-Commerce for Domestic Sales Training Programme last year. Experienced e-commerce operators were invited to share their experience and insights in opening up the domestic market through e-commerce. The seminars were very popular and received very good feedback. The series of seminars would continue until mid-2015. During the year, the FHKI signed two MOUs respectively with Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau and Shanghai Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export to reinforce our connections and step up future cooperation. PRDC also renewed our MOU with Guangdong Sub-Administration of China Customs to further strengthen communication and cooperation. In October 2014, a mission to Hangzhou and Yiwu was led by MAC to explore business opportunities in Mainland. MAC also attended two investment symposiums in Beijing and Xiamen last year. Facilitating B2B Exchange The FHKI’s annual flagship event, the 2014 PRD Annual Gala Dinner, was held in Huizhou on 5 December 2014. The event was co-hosted with Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and PRDC, and was supported by more than 60 industrial and commercial organizations of Guangdong and Hong Kong. Chief Executive CY Leung was the guest-of-honour and other guests included Vice-governor of Guangdong Zhao Yufang, Party Secretary of Huizhou Chen Yiwei, Huizhou Mayor as well as officials from various departments. FHKI Chairman Stanley Lau, HKPC Chairman Clement Chen, PRDC Chairman Willy Lin and some 1,000 leaders of industrial and commercial associations from Guangdong and Hong Kong attended the event. PRDC signed a MOU with Huizhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce at the Gala Dinner to further strengthen cooperation.
