24 FHKI Annual Report 2014-15 consideration our concerns and eventually “dressed skin” is taken out from the prohibited list. • FHKI and PRDC have been closely monitoring developments over the Guangdong Province Enterprise Collective Contract Regulations and reflected industries’ concerns in a timely manner. Numerous meetings with relevant Mainland parties have been organised by PRDC to reflect members’ views on the regulations. Having regard to the views we raised, the Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress later made a number of changes to the regulations, eg taking out or modifying some of the most objectionable provisions. Exploring Business Opportunities With the support of the “Dedicated Fund on Branding, Upgrading and Domestic Sales” (BUD Fund) set up by the HKSAR Government, the FHKI launched five projects covering the mould and die industry, fast moving consumer goods, toys industry, promotion of Q-Mark and e-commerce. Since 2013, the FHKI and Hong Kong Mould & Die Council (Group 14) have launched a three-year project to host a Hong Kong Pavilion in the Die and Mould Zone at Chinaplas. A total of 24 Hong Kong companies participated in the 2014 Chinaplas staged in Shanghai in April 2014, showcasing the excellence of Hong Kong mould technologies, mechanics, components and products. In November 2014, the FHKI completed the “Study of the Supply Chain of Fast Moving Consumer Goods in Guangdong” . The study analysed the sales channels of these goods in three cities - Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Qingyuan to assist SMEs to formulate effective strategies on domestic sales. In September 2013, the FHKI, Hong Kong Toys Council (Group 19), the Toys Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) joined effort in implementing a BUD-funded project to encourage the toy industry to upgrade their business model from original equipment manufacturing/original design manufacturing The Hong Kong Pavilion at Chinaplas 2014 held in Guangzhou 廣州2014國際橡塑展的「香港館」 The FHKI appointed Jinan University to conduct the Study on the Supply Chain of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in Guangdong. 工總委託暨南大學進行「廣東省快速消費商品的供應鏈研究」。 Operational Review Exploring Mainland Business Opportunities
